Biannual Report 2005 - 2007

Glory be to the Triune God. By the immense Grace of God, the consistant. support and guidance of our Bishop the Rt. Rev. Dr. V. Devasahayam and the prayers of the members of CSI Diocese of Madras, the Communications Department is happy to submit the following report.

1. Diocesan Diary

Every year we produce a diary, to be supplied to all Pastors, Heads of Institutions and copies to Pastorates and Institutions for sale. 1500 copies. This diary is a heady handbook, consisting of Information’s on all our Diocesan Pastorates, Institutions and Hospitals, and the departments and their work is also published with the calendar lectionary for each Sunday is also printed. Information on the other 22 CSI dioceses is also given.

2. Diocesan Magazine - Namadhu Pudhu Vazhvu

We publish Namadhu Pudhu Vaazhvu once in two months. For want of reports and articles from different congregations and institutions and departments, we are unable to bring it out as a monthly magazine. We have a wide range of readers, subscribers and mission partners, not only within India but also outside our country. We are in the process of making a website and thereby start ‘e’ magazine by 2007, so that our overseas friends and partners will have easy access to the Mission and work of ourDiocese.

3. Diocesan Audio - Visual Recording Studio

Our newly established Audio - visual Recording Studio has been dedicated on 17.5.2006. This has been housed in the Annex Buildings in the St. George’s Cathedral Campus. It is an outcome of a joint venture costing Rs. 25 lakhs/- by

• Now, we can take up any audio recording programme and Rs. 250/- per hour has been tentatively fixed for renting our Studio. We have copying facility as well.

• The Video - Coverage is being done by our staff and the Processing procedure is delayed for want of software for the Video - Computer System.

• A Computer system is available for Congregation to Preserve their records, statistics, income and expenditures. statement and other related documents.

• We should be able to procedure a digital camera as early as possible.

4. Interdepartmental Sharing

We collaborate with each of our departments in sharing, contributing while preparing the new Songs and Liturgy for various special Sundays and Celebration, in our Diocese.

5. Televising the covered programs

In co-operation with the Good News Television, Royapettah, we were able to cover and telecast the Diocesan special programs, as well as parish level Sunday services through Tamilan T.V. We are also working on encouraging our congregations participating through their own programs to be televised for half an hour each week, throughout the year.

6. Diocesan Calendar

We are planning to produce a diocesan calendar from 2007, onwards.

7. Press Meet

A friendly network of press personale is being built by our department for any of our diocesan requirements.
