Biennial Report 2001 – 2002
The Church as an instrument of God has beedn called to actively proclaim and participate in God's Mission. We strongly committed to have a wholistic understanding and practice of Mission to the proclamation of Gospel by Word and Deed within this overall commitment we affirm the centrality of Evangelism. The Church exists for Mission, with this understanding we are working towards the goal of Building the God's Kingdom. I praise God for the growing interest, concern, and participation of the congregations in the work of the Board of Mission and Evangelism of our Diocese.
1. Missionaries and Mission Centers
Our Madras Diocesan jurisdiction is widely spread in six districts in Tamil Nadu. (i.e. Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Villupuram, Cuddalore Pondicherri and Chittoor District in Andhrapradesh. Within our Diocesan jurisdiction there is no church in hundreds of villages. Our great concern and vision is that not a single village is left without the church. The works of our Missionaries are to be appreciated. With great vigor and speed our Diocesan Missionaries are working to reach all the villages in our Diocesan area. There is a great response for our ministry, people are longing for peace, love and healing from the Lord Jesus Christ.

For many years we had 25 missionaries only working in our Diocese. By the grace of God we were able to appoint 70 new Missionaries in the last two years. They were given full-fledged training and sent to the Mission Field. Totally Ninety Missionaries are working in Mission Fields. God so richly blessed our Mission work and doing things in Mighty ways.
We have monthly meetings of our Missionaries to receive their reports and evaluate the work and send them with guidance, which is helpful, and a source of encouragement to do the ministry. Refresher courses were also conducted regularly.
We had three days (28.9.2001 – 31.9.2001)-training programme for our Missionaries at Shalom Retreat Center, Elagiri. We had another two days training programme on 15th and 16th March 2002 at CSI Synod Center, Chennai, all the missionaries attended these trainings and richly blessed.
